Top Guard to Visit UVa Soon

6-5, 195-pound guard Sylven Landesberg , a star rising senior out of Holy Cross High School (Queens, N.Y.), has planned two more visits. These visits could be his final experiences before he comes to a decision, something he would like to do as early as next month.

“Hopefully, I’ll have a decision by the end of September,” said Landesberg, who narrowed his list of schools to five last month. “I can’t wait to get this over with.”

Two Atlantic Coast Conference programs – Georgia Tech and Virginia – will receive the planned visits.

“I have a visit to Virginia coming up. I’m going down there in a week or two,” Landesberg said. “I’m going in September on a visit to Georgia Tech. That will be an official visit. It’s going to be on the 15th.”

Landesberg expects to be in Charlottesville for five days. He will be accompanied by his father, mother and sister. This will be his first visit to UVa since the NBPA Top 100 Camp, which was Landesberg’s first visit to Charlottesville.

“Right now, I like almost everything about the school,” Landesberg said of UVa. “It is a good academic school. They play in one of the best conferences. I think I could fit in good in the school and on the team. I want to get more comfortable with the surroundings and the guys on the team.”

Georgia Tech head coach Paul Hewitt has done a good job in Landesberg’s recruitment, but the star guard has never visit the campus before.

“Georgia Tech was probably the first school to come after me hard,” Landesberg said. “Coach Hewitt has been coming to my games since I was a freshman. I like coach Hewitt as a coach and a person.
