Corey Lewis enjoyed what may have been a breakout season at East Stroudsburg South (PA), earning all-Mountain Valley conference and all-area honors for his play at left offensive tackle. The 6-6, 280-pound senior, a commitment to the University of Virginia since June, drew scholarship offers from two Big 10 programs as a result of his senior season performance. He was reportedly going to make official visits to these two schools, but has since had a change of heart.
“I talked it over with my mother. She wanted me to take a look at other schools just so I would be sure I’m making the right decision, but I really want to do Virginia. I’m really into Virginia, so I don’t think I’m going to visit any other schools,” said Lewis, whose two most recent offers came from Illinois and Penn State. “I gave the Virginia coaches my word, so it is just not right to look at other schools after committing. Plus, Virginia was there when I wasn’t all that good.”
Lewis has told the Virginia coaches that he does not plan to visit any other schools.
