Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) turned in a fantastic 2008 season with nine wins to just one loss, led by top senior prospects Antone Exum , Jordan Love and Virginia defensive end recruit Jake Snyder . Head coach Greg Kendall would have a tough time finding three prospects as talented as those three in next year’s class, but he knows he has at least one likely 1A recruit.

“We don’t have anyone [in the 2010 class] that has been offered yet,” Kendall said. “Conner Davis is hearing from a lot of people and being invited to games every weekend. He was a unanimous choice all-district tackle on offense, so I think I’d be really surprised if he doesn’t have an offer by the end of his junior year.”

Davis has received interest from Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others. He has attended games this fall at Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech, and he plans on heading to Columbus, Ohio, this Saturday for Ohio State’s match-up against rival Michigan.

A two-way standout, Davis projects as an offensive tackle on the college level according to Kendall.

“He is 6-5, about 255 pounds right now,” Kendall said. “He played defensive end for us and did a great job. He and Jake [Snyder] were kind of our bookends. He is striving to be like Jake, but that is kind of a high standard to get to. I think offense is where his future will be. He has big long arms and great feet. He is developing a nasty streak, which is good to see, too. All of the coaches I’ve spoken to are recruiting him for offense.”

Early on there does not appear to be a clear favorite.

“He is pretty open. Right now, I think he is kind of wide-eyed about it,” Kendall said.
