Doubtless, there could be a pessimistic view of the Virginia quarterback situation. The three players in the race for the starting job include two guys who did not complete a pass last season, and one who threw half as many touchdowns as he did interceptions.

The optimistic view is that, well, maybe one of those guys could be pretty good. Jameel Sewell has already led UVa to a nine-win season, Vic Hall is arguably the best high school quarterback to ever play in the state of Virginia, and returning starter Marc Verica has only decision-making issues standing in the way of being at least a serviceable starter.

The bottom line is that, like last year at this time, there are three quarterbacks who could take the first snap of the season, and Al Groh has offered nary a clue as to who it could be.
