Chris Brathwaite ‘s recruiting card
Led by UVa recruit and 3-year starter Chris Brathwaite , Holy Cross (Flushing, N.Y.) is 5-1 this season heading into a key match-up this week against St. Anthony’s. Brathwaite, a senior and one of the team leaders, has been an important factor throughout this season. The 6-1 1/2, 260-pound prospect sees action on both sides of the ball, lining up at offensive guard and, depending upon the opposition’s scheme, at either defensive tackle or defensive end.
“We’re moving him around because people are making calls around him,” Holy Cross head coach Tom Pugh said. “Last year, he went out and did his job and dominated. This year, we’re moving him around and we’re able to do so because he also has a tremendous football IQ. He understands the game. You can’t fool him. He reads screen passes and things like that so well.”
Coach Pugh has been able to rely on Brathwaite since 2007, but this year the Hall-of-Fame coach has noticed several areas of improvement.
