Virginia QB commitment Michael Strauss appears set to enroll at the University of Virginia this month. RB recruit KP Parks continues his gridiron success and we take a look at three potential 2010 class targets of head coach Mike London in this edition of “Notes.”

Strauss expecting to be in Charlottesville very soon

When he committed last month, Gulliver Prep (Miami, FL) product Michael Strauss indicated a desire to enroll at the University of Virginia in January. It appears he’ll get his wish.

“I got my room assignment this week and I’ve been told when I’m supposed to be up there,” said the 6-3, 215-pound signal caller. “I’m supposed to be there on the 18th.

“I’m excited. I’m trying to stay at home these next couple of weeks to spend time with the family a little bit before I go.”

Strauss, who will be the second January enrollee at Virginia in as many years (DE Will Hill did it last year), spoke with Virginia head coach Mike London earlier this week.

“Coach London called [on Monday] and told me it was pretty much a done deal. It just wasn’t official yet,” Strauss said. “It should be official soon.”

After throwing for about 6,000 yards and 60 touchdowns combined over the past two seasons, Strauss hopes to continue his success on the ACC level. Ultimately, he wants to guide the Cavaliers to an ACC Championship. This is exactly what he thought of when he attended the Iowa/Georgia Tech Orange Bowl earlier this week.

“The ACC champion goes there. Hopefully, we’ll be able to be there,” Strauss said.
