Catching Up With The UVa Freshmen

The University of Virginia’s freshman class, ranked No. 19 in the nation by Scout.com and No. 20 in the nation by Rivals.com, is head coach Tony Bennett’s first full class as the Cavaliers head coach. Certainly, it goes without saying that this group is expected to be a big part of the program going forward. TheSabre.com caught up with all six freshmen to discuss various topics including expectations, adjusting to college life and much more. Today, we feature guard KT Harrell (profile linked is from VirginiaSports.com), forward Akil Mitchell and forward Will Regan .

KT HARRELL – Guard, 6-4, 204 pounds, Brewbaker Tech (Montgomery, AL)

– A Scout.com, ESPN.com and Rivals.com Top 100 prospect in the 2010 class, Harrell enters as UVa’s most highly regarded freshman. After missing his entire junior year due to transfer rules, KT averaged 27.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.6 blocks per game as a senior, earning Class 4A Player of the Year honors by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. He was also named Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Alabama in 2010 and received the Student-Athlete of the Year Award as a senior at Brewbaker Tech.
