Darius Jennings
Our sources confirm that Virginia will host one of the top “athlete” prospects in the country this weekend, when Gilman (Baltimore, MD) senior Darius Jennings makes an official visit.
Maryland’s Gatorade Player of the Year and an Under Armour All-American Bowl selection, the 5-11, 175-pound Jennings has narrowed his list down to six schools: Maryland, Ohio State, UCLA, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. At quarterback, Jennings totaled 2,017 yards of offense including 1,592 yards rushing in 2010. The dynamic playmaker averaged 9.6 yards per carry as a senior and 8.8 yards per carry over the course of his high school career. In total, Jennings scored 53 touchdowns at Gilman.
This will not be Jennings’ first visit to UVa, as he has been twice unofficially this year. Both experiences went well, and the Coach London and company are looking to build on those prior visits.
Nick Menocal
Jennings won’t be the only target in town this weekend. 6-3, 230-pound linebacker/defensive end Nick Menocal is scheduled to make an official visit as well. Menocal, a senior out of Belen Jesuit in Miami (FL), originally committed to Miami but opened up his recruitment recently.
