The season’s first kickoff is nearly here for the Virginia football team. Those UVa journeys start off with William & Mary at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Offense In Motion
William &Mary coach Jimmye Laycock receives a lot of credit for his offensive mind and game plans. Rightfully so. Dating back to his years as Clemson’s offensive coordinator and the likes of future 49er Dwight Clark, Laycock has guided numerous all-conference and all-American players as his offenses have produced. While the Tribe receiving corps is untested entering this contest – the top four receivers, including a pair of players making their collegiate debut, on the depth chart combined for just 41 catches last season – expect Laycock to come up with a plan to support quarterback Michael Paulus and running back Jonathan Grimes. Tight end Alex Gottlieb could be heavily involved as well.
