Class of 2013 football recruiting news has come fast and furious in the month of June. UVa certainly has been in on the action, landing six rising high school seniors in the past two weeks. The Cavaliers have 15 commitments overall now, and spots are limited. In this Strategy Session, I review the most recent developments on the recruiting front and take a look at where the class goes from here.
The month of June has produced major action on the football recruiting front. In case you’ve missed some of it, here are some of the notable developments:
Jack English started the June commitment run
– Virginia has scored six commitments this month, starting with St. Christopher’s (Richmond, VA) defensive tackle/tight end Brad Henson. UVa now has 15 commitments in total. The position breakdown of those commitments is as follows:
QB: 2 (C. Cutler, B. Marshall)
WR: 3 (Z. Jones, K. Johnson, A. Levrone Jr.)
OL: 3 (B. Henson, J. McDonald, S. Olanrewaju)
DT: 2 (J. English, D. Wilkins)
LB: 2 (M. Kiser, L. Smith)
CB: 2 (H. Corporan, K. Garner)
DB (safety or corner): 1 (T. Harris)
Our initial projection was for this class to be 20 deep, and that’s the number recruiting coordinator Jeff Hanson gave to the Daily Press in an article last month.
