Athletic, Versatile Wing To Arrive On Grounds Today

The University of Virginia will be the first official visit destination for senior Marial Shayok, a 6’6″, 210-pound wing guard/forward out of Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J. The official visit will take place this weekend, Blair head coach Joe Mantegna reports.

“He’s excited to see Virginia’s campus and he’s excited about Marquette,” Mantegna said. “In addition, he has offers from USC, Boston College, Cincinnati, Providence. If he pushes [his recruitment] out and others see how much he has improved, I think the list would grow, but right now he has a pretty good list of Division 1 offers.”

Shayok, a native of Ottawa (CAN), played for CIA Bounce on the Nike EYBL circuit this spring and summer. He is entering his second season at Blair Academy, where he has impressed with his skill and athletic ability. Mantegna likened the promising prospect’s game to that of NBA star Dwyane Wade.
