The status of Jeffery Farrar ‘s verbal commitment to the University of Virginia has come into question as of late.  The Upland (CA) star senior made official visits to Utah and Washington State in the month of September, but in an interview this past Sunday he says his commitment to the Cavaliers is firm.

“My commitment is very solid,” said Farrar, a 6’1″, 195-pound cornerback/wide receiver.  The visits to Utah and Washington State “only made my commitment more solid.”

Farrar also made the following tweet on Monday.

Farrar has visited UVa twice unofficially and plans to take an official visit the weekend of the Virginia Tech football game.  A prospect can take up to five official visits in total, so he has two open spots should he choose to use them.  Asked if he planned to take more official visits to other schools besides Virginia, Farrar said:  “I’m not sure.  As of now I’m not thinking about any of that.”

Head coach Mike London has kept in consistent contact with the standout athlete and the two have developed a close relationship.  Farrar is also getting to know his future teammates, including 5-star safety Quin Blanding.

“Me and Quin talk all the time,” Farrar said.  “We always check in to see how the other’s season is going.”

After going 0-2 to start the season, Upland has rallied with three straight victories.  Farrar broke through with a 66-yard interception return for a touchdown in a week 4 blowout win over Silverado, and this past week he returned a kick-off 95 yards for a score in a thrilling 43-42 overtime win over Santiago.  Farrar had an interception last week as well.  (Click
