With Signing Day less than two months away, the stretch run for class of 2014 recruiting is here and schools are looking to close out strong. The recent addition of Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA) defensive end Michael Biesemier gives the Cavaliers 13 verbal commitments in its class, which includes class of 2013 quarterback signee Corwin Cutler, who graduated from Ocean Lakes in the spring of 2013 but is currently in a postgraduate year at Fork Union Military Academy.

Position-wise, Virginia’s class of 2014 breaks down as follows:

QB (1) – Corwin Cutler
RB (1) – Jordan Ellis
WR (1) – Donovan Dowling
TE (1) – Evan Butts
OL (2) – Steven Moss, Will Richardson
DL (2) – Michael Biesemier (DE), Andrew Brown (DT)
LB (2) – Caanan Brown, Jordan Jackson (possible DE)
CB (1) – Darious Latimore
S (1) – Quin Blanding
ATH (1) – Jeffery Farrar (CB or WR)

Before we look at the latest news, lets take a look at where we are in the 2013/2014 recruiting calendar.

Recruiting Calendar

– We are in a Contact Period that lasts through December 15.
– A long Dead Period begins on December 16 and lasts through January 15.
– The Contact Period resumes January 16 and lasts through February 1. There is a “Quiet Period” on February 2 before another Dead Period from February 3-6
National Signing Day is Wednesday, February 5.
