National Signing Day for the class of 2014 is Wednesday, February 5. Virginia is holding steady with 17 recruits in this class, two of which have already enrolled. There are still some outstanding decisions left to be made, though, including that of Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) U.S. Army All-American Derrick Nnadi.

The University of Virginia was the fifth and final school to host 4-star defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi on an official visit. How did it go?

“His visit went okay,” Dolphins head coach Chris Scott said. “He got to hang out a lot with a good friend of his, Eli (Harold), and talk with Chip West. He thought it was a pretty solid visit. He got to see some things academically. It wasn’t one of their bigger weekends they have had, but the coaches felt like they were able to sell their pitch.”

Nnadi’s previous official visit stops included Florida State, Penn State, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. Coach Scott further discussed the 6’2”, 300-pound senior’s trip to Tech, which occurred the weekend of January 24-26.

“It was a good time,” Scott said. “He talked about how he had a good time with the players. He was able to have good conversations about the overall depth chart and the importance of being a hometown guy. They feel like he could help them continue to win games and go to bowl games.”

In our previous interview, Scott indicated that Penn State likely is no longer a serious contender. That continues to be the case, leaving only four schools as realistic possibilities come Wednesday’s National Signing Day,
