Cavs Impress Out-Of-State LBs
Virginia is in great shape with Lakota West (West Chester, OH) linebacker C.J. Stalker, who toured the Grounds for the first time ever last month.
“I would say they are a favorite,” Stalker said. “I just loved everything about it. It’s safe to say they are the favorite.”
The 6’3″, 220-pound rising senior started the 2013 season at outside linebacker before moving to the middle spot, where he flourished according to head coach Larry Cox. Virginia likes Stalker as a middle linebacker. Cincinnati, Kentucky, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and West Virginia have offered as well.
Virginia is now a top contender for another out-of-state rising senior linebacker, St. Peter’s Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) standout Jordan Fox. Fox, a 6’3″, 220-pound outside linebacker prospect, was on Grounds this past Saturday.

By all accounts Fox had a great time in Charlottesville and is very high on the Hoos. Boston College, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Rutgers and Vanderbilt are among the other schools that have offered.
In-state-wise, Virginia continues to be in good shape with Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) rising senior Jahvoni Simmons. If the Cavaliers can close with the three prospects mentioned in this piece, certainly that would make for a very good class of linebackers. At this point, landing all three appears to be a real possibility.
