Lakota West (West Chester, OH) senior linebacker C.J. Stalker and his family hit the road around midnight last Friday night, ultimately arriving in Charlottesville about eight hours later. The Virginia-bound prospect made the trek so he could see his future school take on UNC in Scott Stadium.

“It was good,” Stalker said of the visit, during which he got to spend time with fellow Cavalier class of 2015 recruits Tanner Cowley and Jahvoni Simmons. “Obviously I have been to UVa multiple times before, but never on game day. It was a great atmosphere. It was a great time despite the loss.”

Virginia’s play this season has given the 6’3”, 230-pound linebacker reason to be positive about the direction of the program under head coach Mike London.

“I would say the future is bright,” Stalker said. “From someone who is an analytical person about football, in those four losses, they were in the game each time. If you take away 10 plays in total, the outcome would have been different. I don’t think anything should be concerning to anyone, obviously especially future players. I think Coach Tenuta is an incredible coach with an incredible level of intelligence. I believe Bobby Petrino was interviewed after UVa upset Louisville. He blatantly said they had no idea what UVa was doing defensively, which shows Coach Tenuta’s intelligence.”
