On Wednesday, April 6, Iona Prep (New Rochelle, N.Y.) 4-star senior point guard Ty Jerome answered questions from EDGE subscribers on the EDGE Subscriber Board. Below is the full transcript from the chat with the soon-to-be Cavalier, who had the following to say with respect to enrolling on Grounds in just over two months time…
“I think it’s just starting to hit me. I’ve watched two full seasons of Virginia basketball since I committed (in September of 2014). When the Final 4 ended, it hit me. I’m just so excited to be part of a great program!”

BTHWahoo: Basketball wise, what do you see as your major challenges as you enter your college career? Go Wahoos!!!!
TY JEROME: “The first thing that comes to mind is the physicality of the game. Getting stronger, and just being able to defend and stay low, playing through contact. Nothing I can’t handle.”
NycHOOps: What aspects of your game do you need to work on the most to prepare for playing in the ACC?
TY JEROME: “I think the first thing that comes to mind is getting as quick a release on my shot as possible. I’m really confident with my ball-handling and ability to handle pressure. But if you have someone closing out so fast you have to get your shot up quickly, so I’m working on getting shot out as fast as possible. And then the physicality. And then lateral quickness, for defense.”
NycHOOps: What players do you model your game after?
TY JEROME: “I don’t really know. I’ve watched a lot of basketball. Broke down a lot of film. You really can’t model your game...
