Offensive Tackle Prospect Ryan Swoboda Set To Take A Closer Look At UVA

Kentucky, NC State, and Oregon State are among the schools that have been represented at Windermere Prep (Windermere, FL) this week to take a closer look at 6’10”, 265-pound senior offensive tackle Ryan Swoboda. Virginia and South Florida have extended scholarship offers already, and if this week’s interest is any indication, more FBS-level offers could be on the way.

Swoboda, who also has an offer from Dartmouth, is “fired up” about the Oregon State interest according to Windermere Prep varsity football head coach Jacob Doss. The standout prospect grew up in Oregon and still has family there, reasons why he is intrigued. Virginia has impressed, too, and is set to host Swoboda on an official visit this weekend.

“He’s looking for something similar to here,” Doss answered when asked what Swoboda will be looking for when he takes his official visit to UVA this weekend. “He’s looking for the family atmosphere. They were so good to him in the whole recruiting process, which he really liked. Virginia has been extremely loyal the whole time. They have kept up with him each week. I definitely think Virginia has got an edge on everybody right now.”

Despite having three commitments to date, UVA is still in major need of offensive linemen in the 2017 Class. Doss says Virginia is in good shape right now. Swoboda, though, reportedly has scheduled an official to South Florida in late January and has the interest in Oregon State, so a decision may not come soon.
