UVA Football Attracts Local Talents To February 15 Recruiting Event

The UVA/Duke men’s basketball game on Wednesday, February 15 produced a solid recruiting turnout, but Tony Bennett’s basketball program was not the beneficiary. Instead, Cavalier head football coach Bronco Mendenhall and his staff hosted a recruiting event that included a stop in John Paul Jones Arena to see the Wahoos take on the Blue Devils.

Virginia football’s lone class of 2018 commitment, Noah Taylor, was among the group of prospects in attendance. The Avalon (Gaithersburg, MD) outside linebacker called his latest experience on Grounds “amazing. All the love I get from coaches and fans is outstanding. My relationship with Coach Pop (Kelly Poppinga), Bronco and the other coaches is growing much more as I get closer being a Cavalier.”

Defensive back Jermaine Waller, a teammate and classmate of Taylor’s, received an offer from Coach Mendenhall while visiting Wednesday. His only other offer as of this writing is from Towson.
