Holly Springs (N.C.) 4-star power forward/center prospect Kadin Shedrick’s first ever visit to the University of Virginia went so well that he decided to commit just 15 minutes after leaving. His college decision made, the 6’11” senior returned to Charlottesville for an official visit the weekend of September 21-23.

“I feel really good with my decision,” Shedrick said in an interview with TheSabre.com earlier this week. “I’m comfortable in Charlottesville.”
In addition to this being an official visit, what made this latest visit different from the trip Shedrick made one month prior (when he committed) was the opportunity to spend time with the Virginia players (including fellow recruit Casey Morsell) and watch a practice. Shedrick also took in Virginia football’s home win over Louisville.
“I had a lot of fun,” Shedrick said. “I had a great time. I really enjoyed it. I was comfortable with the players. They were around pretty much the whole trip. Jack, Ty, Kyle and De’Andre were hosting us. They were around us most of the time. I felt comfortable with them. They are pretty chill, but when it comes to practice they get after it.”
Shedrick, Morsell and Virginia class of 2020 target Terrance Williams, each of whom were in Charlottesville on official visits that weekend, didn’t play with the team, but they did take the opportunity to use the John Paul Jones arena and “worked out on our own for fun, doing things the [current Virginia players do],” Shedrick said.
