Catching Up With Virginia Basketball Recruit Kadin Shedrick

Holly Springs (N.C.) senior Kadin Shedrick has picked the University of Virginia men’s basketball program to cut down the nets in Minneapolis next month.

“I’m liking Virginia’s chances a lot,” Shedrick said. “Obviously I’m going to pick them anyways, but I think this is Virginia’s year. I think we are going to make a run.”

This pick is no surprise, of course, because the consensus 4-star forward/center signed with the Hoos last November, along with St. John’s College (Washington, D.C.) star guard and fellow consensus 4-star Casey Morsell. Both student athletes are expected to enroll on Grounds this summer.

Shedrick, the almost-6’11”, 205-pound (recent measurements) prospect, chose UVA over 31 other scholarship offers last August. His commitment to the Cavaliers came within weeks of receiving a scholarship offer from head coach Tony Bennett, who was impressed with the talented post’s play for Garner Road on the Adidas AAU circuit last spring and summer.
