With a series sweep of Virginia Tech, the Virginia baseball team earned its 40th win of the season. That marks the 14th time a Wahoo team achieved that plateau. Coach Brian O’Connor has guided 13 of those seasons.
Outfielder Harrison Didawick provided some context to what that means in the UVA program.
“The goal is not to win the series, the goal is to sweep. The goal is to go 1-0 every day,” Didawick said. “Today was a new day and the two games before didn’t matter. The goal was to go 1-0 today. We’re pumped. We’re here to go to Omaha and win it all and that’s our goal and it’s been our goal since day one.”
