Virginia Basketball Double Bonus: Exam Break I

The Virginia basketball team marched out of the gates with an 8-1 record before the exam break. That start included a fifth straight Thanksgiving tournament title, another ACC-Big Ten Challenge victory, and true road win at VCU.

In some ways, that’s business as usual. UVA, after all, has become a consistent product under coach Tony Bennett. The Cavaliers own a 51-8 record in November and December since the start of the 2013-14 season after all and remember four of those losses came in a 9-4 start to the beginning of this stretch. In other words, since the start of the 2014-2015 season, the Hoos have posted a 42-4 mark in the first two months of the season.

While the story remains the same, however, the protagonists and plots change year to year. What have been some of the big stories so far? The Double Bonus is back with extra installments this week to take a closer look.

Devon Hall’s Fast Start

Redshirt senior Devon Hall said during the preseason that he planned to be more assertive on offense this season because that is something the team likely needed from him. So far, so good.
