The Virginia basketball team took care of business again Tuesday night with a 68-61 win against Syracuse. With one more game at the John Paul Jones Arena during this four home-one away stretch of the schedule, the Hoos can put themselves in a good spot in the ACC standings with NC State due in town on Sunday.

Since Virginia returned from its exam break, the whole ‘who will be the third scorer’ question mostly has become a race between De’Andre Hunter and Ty Jerome. Jerome has averaged 14.7 points in those six games, while Hunter has checked in at 10.3.

Hunter’s recent stretch has produced four double-digit scoring games in the last five outings, including a three-game run of 14, 10, and 15 against Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and Syracuse. That most recent effort played a huge role in the Hoos reaching 4-0 in the ACC. He finished with those 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 shooting from the free throw line. He added two rebounds, two steals, and two blocked shots.
