Virginia Basketball Double Bonus: Florida State

The Virginia basketball team fell behind but didn’t fall on the road Wednesday night. The Cavaliers overcame their biggest halftime deficit of the season to topple Florida State, 59-55, in Tallahassee.

The comeback victory required rejuvenating the offense at halftime in what coach Tony Bennett called a tale of two halves. After scoring just 22 points before intermission, the Hoos turned the tide with 37 points in the final 20 minutes. All three starting guards – Devon Hall, Ty Jerome, and Kyle Guy – finished in double figures and they all had a hand in the second half turnaround with 27 of the team’s 37 points after the break.
