The Virginia basketball team wrapped up its 2020-2021 campaign with its seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. While the Cavaliers’ stay in the Big Dance didn’t last long, they did finish the season with at least 18 wins for the 10th straight time. With this season now in the archives, it’s time to look back at the annual 10 preseason questions for the Hoos.

5. What’s round two look like for Casey Morsell?

Long answer short: more of the same. Flashes and flurries, but not quite consistent enough to build on them.

Morsell came to Virginia as Rivals’ No. 65 recruit nationally and the 2019 Gatorade Player of the Year in Washington D.C. He snared a spot in the rotation as a true freshman and was the first true freshman to start in the season opener since 2012 when he was in the starting lineup at Syracuse in 2019. The road had many ups and downs from there.
