It’s been a month since the Virginia men’s basketball team wrapped up its season in the NCAA Tournament First Four with a loss to Colorado State. In the weeks since, everyone stays glued to the latest episodes of ‘As The Portal Turns’ with two Cavaliers opting to leave the program, while UVA contacts and hosts various other players around the country to build its roster for next season.
With potential commitments or new targets looming, it’s a great time to take stock of how the 2023-2024 season went. The Hoos finished 23-11 overall and 13-7 in the ACC, which landed them third place in the league. They advanced to the ACC Tournament Semifinals but lost to NC State in overtime after the Wolfpack forced the extra period with a banked buzzer beater that eventually launched a run all the way to the Final Four. UVA made the NCAA Tournament field as noted above, but lost 67-42 to CSU in sluggish fashion to end the season.
