Virginia Basketball: A Closer Look At UVA’s ACC Schedule

With practice officially underway, the Virginia men’s basketball team started the march to tipoff this week. The ACC also released the full schedule Tuesday night so fans now know the lay of the land when it comes to the conference title chase.

The basics for the Hoos’ schedule: 20 conference games, three home-and-away pairs, and seven home only with seven away only contests. The double opponents are Virginia Tech, Louisville and Southern Methodist. The home only league games come against NC State, Boston College, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Duke, Clemson, and Florida State. For away games only, the Wahoos face California, Stanford, Miami, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Syracuse.

Virginia opens ACC play at home against SMU on Saturday, Dec. 7 and wraps up the regular season slate at Syracuse on Saturday, March 8. Before the action starts (as previously announced, UVA opens the campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.), here are a few quick thoughts about the Hoos’ newly released ACC schedule.
