I was very excited about the hire of Bronco Mendenhall to be the next football coach at the University of Virginia. But I wasn’t sure when I heard an interesting statement from his introductory press conference.
Mendenhall explained that when took over after three losing seasons at BYU, the staff conducted an extensive study to determine the “… key predictors for success in college football, not only in college football but at BYU. So I went back to LaVell Edwards’ first year and we crunched every number, predictors of success because I wanted success, not only for myself but the student-athletes and my guys back there now.”
Ok, I’m real good with this approach but it was the following conclusion that made me take a step back
