The Virginia football team finished 5-5 last fall during the pandemic-altered 2020 season. The Cavaliers opted out of postseason play, but the campaign represented the third straight season without a losing record and it would have added a bowl appearance for the fourth straight time in normal circumstances. Overall, this is the most stable footing for the program in 15 to 20 years.
