Virginia linebacker Mike Green didn’t necessarily come to Charlottesville with a lot of hype.

Green wasn’t one of UVA’s four four-star recruits in the 2021 recruiting class. He didn’t make an early splash quite like fellow linebacker West Weeks, who has since transferred to LSU. He isn’t juggling two sports like fellow class member Jay Woolfolk. He didn’t get a sleeper label on signing day like Malachi Fields.

Still, new Cavalier coach Tony Elliott saw something in Green during his first months on the job and he isn’t about to let it go. No, he’s pushing. Hard.

“Mike Green is another one that I’m trying to get both feet in the water because he’s as talented of an athlete that we have on this football team,” Elliott said.
