For the first time since the start of the 2021 season, the Virginia football team has begun a season 2-0. We’ve witnessed the Hoos taking care of business against Richmond in a game they should have won, and did win, 34-13. Last Saturday evening, we watched UVA come back from a 13-point deficit in the second half to claim a 31-30 victory over Wake Forest.
The biggest takeaway from the wins? Virginia playing in a way that winning teams do. Taking care of business against a lesser team and winning on the road against a peer. This Saturday, the Cavaliers will get to take on another challenge when the Maryland Terrapins come to Scott Stadium. The Terps were picked between 10th and 15th in the Big Ten and while they are not likely to be playing in the College Football Playoffs, this Maryland squad will be a step-up test for the Hoos. They have won three straight bowl games.
On to the grades and operational reviews.
