As the sun dips behind the Blue Ridge Mountains, Chico Bennett Jr. will get in his car and just drive with the destination unknown.
“It’s a good way for me to get out of this space, get in my own little world, talk to myself if I need to,” Bennett said. “Just clear my thoughts, clear my head.”
Bennett says he usually takes the same route heading toward Richmond, but at some point he will stop and turn around. The Virginia 6th-year defensive end started the routine as a way to deal with some of life’s hardships or just re-center his thoughts after year’s battling injuries in his football career.
