
When it comes to men’s lacrosse, the ACC has plenty of reason to love the City of Brotherly Love. Philadelphia, after all, has hosted Championship Weekend six times and produced four champions from the conference, including Virginia twice.
The conference would love to extend its love for the city even further this weekend.
The top three seeds in this year’s NCAA Tournament all represent the ACC and all advanced to the Final Four in Philadelphia. Top seed Duke faces No. 5 seed Penn State at Noon on Saturday, while No. 2 seed UVA takes on No. 3 seed Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. The winners will meet on Monday at 1 p.m.
For the Cavaliers to get a shot at a third title in the last four tournaments, they will need to defeat the Irish for the third time this season. Virginia prevailed 15-10 in South Bend earlier this season and then won the first rematch 12-8 in Charlottesville.
