Does anyone have a list of nattys for each ACC school available? by KBrown on the
Virginia Baseball Board 55 seconds ago
A lot of ways to look at this info, and I'll admit I'm biased, but UVA's
titles are very impressive with respect to the breadth of programs that have won. I mean Denver has more total titles than UVA but they're mostly in one semi-competitive sport.

Kansas St vs Va Tech on ACC Network may be interesting tonight. Former Tech by wgtaylor97 on the

There are actually a lot of key games tonight for seeding purposes
Notre Dame vs Northwestern
JMU vs Maryland
Presbyterian vs Georgia
Eastern KY vs Louisville
FGCU vs Miami
MTSU vs Vandy
FSU vs Florida
SHSU vs Texas
Northwestern St vs LSU
USC vs UCSB
Gonzaga vs Oregon
Those are all games that could be close and could impact hosting or national seed resumes. I am quite glad that we don't have to play Mt. St. Mary's tonight and burn pitching against a team that would hurt our RPI even if we won.

Sorry for the delay...
Mike still owns Blue Star Media and the Blue Star Report, along with running the Belles. He has lost all influence with Nike, so it would be interesting to see if he tries to stay relevant as an independent or aligns with another shoe company.
With Dan Olson (and others) becoming more prominent and ESPN taking a larger interest in women's basketball, including rankings, I see Mike on the down side of his influence. He was one of the major players (with Boo Williams) for the last 25 years or so.

I didn’t see anything wrong said in there
The players think they are an Omaha team and are playing with confidence. Hard to argue it…
Maybe better coach speak is “one game at a time and we hope to be there”

Kansas St vs Va Tech on ACC Network may be interesting tonight. Former Tech
coach Pete Hughes now coaches K State and returns to Blacksburg for the first time since leading Tech to the postseason in 2013.
Might be worth a look since we don't have a Hoos game until Thursday.

Pretty much like they always have been
I hate to conjure the unfunny predictable response here, but it was a pretty predictable event. It was probably a little more well-attended than I remember other socials at the Washington Golf & CC location, but everything else was as you would expect it.
JWillly is looking forward to going to Italy, especially with the new guys. He thinks Van der Plas is ahead of schedule on the packline because he pretty much grew up in the Bennett basketball family.
We saw from the new coaches what we already know about them. Coach Mox is energetic and positive. She's pushing outreach for her program to get fans back. Elliott is a very confident guy, and really likes talking football. Both of them do seem genuinely grateful to be at the University of Virginia.

Precisely, and as much as we may not like it, if the Hokies play postseason
baseball the way they played against UVA (excellent defense & bullpen, timely hitting and good baserunning) they will have a lengthy run in the postseason.
The Hoos have the talent to do the same but are just not executing quite as well right now. Let's hope that UVA's postseason experience proves to be an advantage down the stretch.

$$$ Split for Virginia vs Tennessee Football Game (from Knoxville Paper) by hootn on the
Virginia Football Board 36 minutes ago
Yeah they do. They can bring in a mid-major for $1M or so, and since they
join the Big 12 before next season, they don't need the marquis match-up anymore. Will probably go to other buyouts for them though, since they're going to have to drop a lot of games, and conference entrance fees.

GA Tech coming on late as our third opponent is probably based on two ...
ideas, the compelling matchup that usually goes down to the wire each year and making GA Tech our 3rd opponent means that no one will have to play both FSU and Clemson every year. The original postulation was GA Tech would get Duke, Clemson (their present designated rival), and FSU (they're the closest team geographically to Tally). The shift would be GA Tech to us and Louisville to Clemson, something that the Louisville fans seem to want.

We've also played Dook every year since 1963...a 60 year streak is tough to
break.
Related, we are 21-21-1 against GT...always a compelling matchup played every year since they joined in 1982

Re NIL, I think it really depends on if UVA wants to put the money up.
I’m not sure they do, which seems silly and counterproductive. You can be a great school and put a ton of money into sports. I suspect excellence in football certainly wouldn’t hurt UVA academically. It sure hasn’t hurt ND and Michigan.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but Dook or GT seem more likely than the BE
teams. We're already getting stuck with a BE team...it makes a lot of sense to keep the older ACC rivalries together that were preserved with divisions.
If Carla wants to show she "gets" us, she'll fight like hell on this one.

See my other post re: Pitt. Duke is getting UNC, Wake, and GA Tech.
Duke and GA Tech have played every year since 1937. It is probably one of the reasons GA Tech joined the ACC. We will get one of Wake, Louisville, or (a late possibility that's been discussed) GA Tech as our third team with VPI and UNC.

Why do you believe UL is more likely than GT (or any other old guard ACC
team)? They were forced on us plainly because they were the replacement for Maryland. But that rationale goes out the window with a reboot.
I could see any number of 3rd match-ups...Dook and GT probably the strongest, Wake and NCSt possibilities, maybe even FSU.
