St. Anne’s-Belfield (Charlottesville, VA) sophomore Jalen Harrison gave a verbal commitment to University of Virginia baseball coach Brian O’Connor last Sunday. While baseball will obviously be his focus, the 6’3″, 200-pound prospect may give football a try as well.
“At this point I’m kind of weighing playing both sports,” said Harrison, a centerfielder in baseball and wide receiver/defensive end in football. He also plays basketball at St. Anne’s and received some college interest in that sport as well. “I’m really starting to like football again. Baseball is still my number one.”
Harrison says he has spoken with O’Connor about the possibility of playing both sports.
“I talked to Coach O’Connor and he said he was down with it,” Harrison said. “He said it might be tough, but it’s all on me. If I put in the work, I can do it.”
