The Fighting Irish men's lacrosse team rolled off four late goals to break an 8-8 tie and then hold off a final Cavalier push to win 12-10 in Philadelphia. Despite a historic night for the Virginia men's lacrosse program, the Cavaliers could not shake the same demons that haunted them a week ago and fell to North Carolina 11-9 in the ACC Tournament Semifinals in Charlottesville. Between April 23 and Monday's NCAA Championship game, the Cavaliers played 5 games, and lost none, ending in what coach Dom Starsia called his most satisfying National Championship ever - and he's had four of them.
