Zaccheaus’ 2 TDs Helped Hawks Reach State Semis

Olamide Zaccheaus showed off his all-purpose abilities last week, helping St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia, PA) to a 34-30 win over Parkland in a PIAA Class AAAA quarterfinal. Zaccheaus, a 5’8″, 185-pound senior, had three receptions for 125 yards in the win. Two of those receptions went for touchdowns, including a 64-yard score in the second quarter and a 36-yard touchdown catch in the third.

A state semifinal matchup against Pennsbury awaits the Hawks tomorrow.

Tanner Cowley, TE, Manasquan (N.J.)

Cowley had a 5-yard touchdown reception in Manasquan’s 21-14 loss to rival Wall on Thanksgiving Day. The Big Blue conclude the 2014 season with a 3-7 record.

David Curry, S, Buford (GA)

Buford defeated Marist, 30-6, in a Class AAAA quarterfinal. The Wolves (13-0) travel to Cartersville in the Class AAAA semifinals tonight.

Nick Johns, QB, Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)

Gonzaga (9-3) edged out Friendship Collegiate, 20-19, for a spot in the DCSAA AA Championship against H.D. Woodson this Saturday, December 6. Woodson is led by Virginia Tech-bound cornerback DuWayne Johnson.

Prior to last week’s win, the Virginia-bound signal caller had 101 completions in 155 attempts for 1,366 yards with 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed 38 times for 200 yards and five touchdowns.

Gladimir Paul, DE, Northeast (Philadelphia, PA)

The Northeast Vikings (6-6) ended the 2014 season on a high note, defeating rival Central 41-0 on Thanksgiving Day. Paul and the rest of the Vikings defense held Central to 27 yards of total offense.

RJ Proctor, OL, Liberty (Bealeton, VA)

Liberty reached the 4A state semifinals with a 35-28 win over Jefferson Forest. Down 28-21 at the half, Proctor and company outscored the Cavaliers 14-0 in the second half to notch the win. The Eagles (12-1) will now take on an undefeated Salem Spartans squad led by Virginia Tech-bound running back Coleman Fox on Saturday, December 6.

Jahvoni Simmons, LB, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA)

Ocean Lakes rolled to a 49-7 win over James River to reach the 6A state semifinals, where it will face fellow 757 powerhouse Oscar Smith. The Dolphins (13-0) take on Oscar Smith tonight at 7.

Juan Thornhill, FS, Altavista (VA)

Altavista will meet Honaker in the Class 1A state semifinals after defeating Parry McCluer last week by a score of 35-10. Thornhill rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s win. He contributed a touchdown pass as well.

Kareem Gibson, CB, Greater Johnstown (Johnstown, PA), 7-4

Gibson had 836 total yards in the regular season, including 353 yards receiving, 229 yards on kickoff returns, 134 yards on punt returns, 92 yards rushing, and 28 yards on interception returns. He had six touchdowns in total, including 3 receiving, 1 rushing, 1 on a punt return, and 1 on a kick return.

Grant Polk, OL, Charlotte (Punta Gorda, FL), 7-4

Joseph Reed, WR, Class of 2016, Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA), 2-8

Myles Robinson, ATH, Good Counsel (Olney, MD), 10-2

Christopher Sharp, RB, Hun School (Princeton, N.J.), 7-1

Sharp rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries in the Hun School’s season finale victory over Mercersburg Academy. He also had a 13-yard touchdown reception in the victory. Sharp rushed 81 times for 1,085 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior. He added nine receptions for 218 yards and four touchdowns.

C.J. Stalker, LB, Lakota West (West Chester, OH), 7-6

James Trucilla, DT, Cathedral Prep (Erie, PA), 11-1

Brandon Wilson, DL, West Orange (Winter Garden, FL), 11-1
