Just over one month remains until National Signing Day for the class of 2016. As the situation stands right now, the scholarship count projection for Virginia football’s 2016 season is 92. Before looking at the numbers by position, here are some notes…

– I am not including Corwin Cutler on this list. UVA has not released anything official as of yet, the former Ocean Lakes (Va. Beach, VA) star, a red-shirt freshman in 2015, tweeted his plans to transfer.

– I am including four special teams players in the scholarship count. They are would-be seniors Nicholas Conte (P) and Dylan Sims (PK), would-be junior Tyler Shirley (LS) and Holland Corbett (PK), who plans to enroll next month. I’m not certain about Conte’s scholarship status, but given his junior season performance I expect there is a great chance he is on scholarship next year. Sims only handled kick-off duties and would be a fifth-year senior next season, so he may well not return.

– I am including players who would be fifth year seniors next season but are highly likely not to return. If they are on the roster right now and have eligibility left, they are included in the count for the sake of this feature.
