Gonzaga OL Johnny Jordan Talks Virginia Offer

First-team all-WCAC and first-team all DC state offensive lineman Johnny Jordan boasts eight scholarship offers at this point in his recruiting process. University of Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall offered a scholarship to the 6’3”, 290-pound junior on March 5, while Jordan was in Charlottesville for a Junior Day recruiting event.

The Virginia offer “means a lot to me,” Jordan wrote in an interview via Twitter direct message. “I have two former high school teammates on UVA’s roster so it would be nice to play with them again. UVA would probably be near the top of the schools that have offered me. I really liked what I saw on my visit.”

“I really liked getting to meet Coach Mendenhall and [Cavalier offensive line coach Garett] Tujague,” Jordan added. “They are both all about family and all about having strong relationships.”

Rising red-shirt freshman quarterback Nick Johns, one of those former teammates of Jordan’s, provided some behind-the-scenes perspective on the Mendenhall-led Virginia program.
