The Virginia men’s basketball team is off to its best ACC start since the 1994-95 club also opened at 4-1 in league play. The Cavaliers picked up their second win of the season against Florida State on Saturday to get that fourth conference victory and the Double Bonus takes a closer look.

Big Game Joe

UVa senior Joe Harris missed most of the first Florida State match-up thanks to a concussion suffered in the first three minutes of action in Tallahassee. With a chance to take on the Seminoles this time around, Harris took full advantage of the opportunity. Harris recorded 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting and added 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 blocked shot for good measure.

“Look at his stat line – he was very solid. He hit that big three when we needed it at the end. He was in good rhythm. He is playing very efficient and I know sometimes it is like he isn’t getting enough shots but he is being guarded hard and he is getting shots for other guys, and he is very efficient. He was moving hard and was very sharp today,” Cavalier coach Tony Bennett said.

Teammate Malcolm Brogdon expressed little surprise with Harris’ sterling game.
