Work Ethic A Trademark of UVa Recruit Bischoff

Plymouth Whitemarsh (Plymouth Meeting, PA) head coach Dan Chang’s first impression of class of 2014 offensive lineman Ryan Bischoff was a positive one.

“I remember the first time I met him. It was after he played in a game in the eighth grade,” Chang said of Bischoff, who verbally committed to the University of Virginia football program earlier this month. “He came up to me and introduced himself. That was good to see. He came up and shook my hand. He showed a lot of respect and was also confident.”

Chang recalls Bischoff being “a big kid then, but there is no doubt his work ethic is one of the best I’ve ever seen. He molded his body into a major college prospect. Right from the start when he started with us, I could see his work ethic in the weight room. He was always looking for extra work. Through the years, he has put on muscle and gotten stronger and stronger. To his credit, he has worked hard at putting on size. Just the past year and a half, he has put on a lot of size and worked on his conditioning.”

Bischoff now stands 6’5” and weighs around 300 pounds. The 2014 season will be his third as a starter on the varsity level. He has seen action at offensive tackle, where he alternates between the right and left spots depending on the play, and defensive tackle.
