With football season fast approaching, the Hoo Preview wraps up its opponent snapshots with a look at Virginia Tech.

The regular season schedule wraps up with a trip to Blacksburg again, but this year there’s a twist. The two long-time rivals will face off Friday, Nov. 28. The time is to be determined.

The Hokies, as Hoo fans know, have dominated the series of late. But VT has major question marks on offense. Tech will feature a new quarterback under center after the departure of Logan Thomas and the running game remains uncertain as the season opens.

Of course, Virginia Tech doesn’t hang its hat on offense anyway and the defense will be good again under Bud Foster. The secondary, in particular, is strong with Kendall Fuller, the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, back in action along with Brandon Facyson. The Hokies finished 11th nationally in scoring defense a year ago by giving up just 19.3 points per game.
