OL Recruit Ben Knutson Reflects On UVa/ND Experience

Around 11 p.m. last Friday, following his team’s game, Ben Knutson headed for the University of Virginia. The Mishawaka (IN) Penn senior and his family arrived in Charlottesville around 11 a.m. last Saturday, in plenty of time for UVa’s regular season home opener against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

For Knutson, a Virginia football commit who lives roughly 15 minutes from South Bend, it was his first ever regular season game experience in Scott Stadium.

“I thought it was all great,” said Knutson, a 6’8”, 275-pound offensive line prospect. “We were able to watch Coach London talk to the team before the game. That was something real special. He fired them up and it showed on the field with their performance. I thought it was a great atmosphere. I was very pleased with how UVa showed. It was a mad-house the last two minutes. I was going crazy. Notre Dame ended up with the last touchdown. Looking back, if UVa could play like that the whole year, it could be a good year. I was pleased with what I saw.”

Knutson says another huge plus about the visit was being able to catch up with “commitments and potential commitments.”
