It is the proverbial elephant in the room.

While speculation around Virginia football coach Mike London’s job security is nothing new, last Saturday’s loss to Louisville likely removed the doubt for most observers and fans of the program. The Cavaliers fell to 3-7 with the 38-31 defeat, leaving them out of the bowl picture with a losing season for the fifth time in London’s six seasons in Charlottesville. Yes, UVA brought London back after 2013’s 2-10 debacle and again after 2014’s 5-7 finish so there may be a few still skeptical of the athletic administration, but things have changed significantly from when those decisions were made.
