A Closer Look At UVa Commit Jack McDonald

Jack McDonald ‘s first impression of the University of Virginia was a positive one, thanks in large part to primary recruiter Jim Reid.

“Jim Reid, I’ve known him for a while. He was the first one I met from Virginia,” said McDonald, an offensive lineman out of Boston College High (Boston, MA). He is one of 15 rising high school seniors to commit to UVa. “He seemed like a great guy the first time I met him. He’s outgoing. His personality seemed like the type of guy you want to play for.”

UVa offered the 6’5″, 285-pound prospect this past spring. McDonald responded by taking an unofficial visit to Charlottesville in April.

“On the visit, I got to meet Coach Wach (Cavaliers offensive line coach Scott Wachenheim). He seemed like a great offensive line coach. He knows where he wants to take the offensive line,” McDonald said. “Coach London, I heard from high school coaches and my coaches, I heard he is a great coach. Talking to him, I believe he will take the Virginia program to the next level. He’s positive, outgoing, and he seems like a great coach and a great person.”
