Lamont Atkins, Zachariah Burton, Germane Crowell Jr., and Jamari Peacock have arrived on Grounds and are set to begin their careers at the University of Virginia. These four are the newest members of the UVA football program and the first four recruits in Bronco Mendenhall’s first full recruiting class as Cavalier head coach.
“It feels amazing,” Atkins wrote in a Twitter direct message interview when asked what it meant to finally be a Cavalier. “You dream about it growing up but I’m officially a student athlete at a prestigious school like the University of Virginia.”
“I’m extremely ready to get started with classes and football training,” Atkins wrote. “I’m nervous because this is a big step but I’m also excited about the opportunities I have at UVA in the classroom and on the football field.”
...Exciting day in the McCue! Welcome @Hoos_Riah,@atkins2017, @Kingpeacock_3, @crowell_germane
