After a weekend of practices in beautiful spring weather, Virginia head coach Al Groh took time to sit down with reporters and discuss the last couple of practices as we near the midway point of the three-week spring practice.

Prospect Update

There have been several questions about the situations around star cornerback recruit Phillip Brown, and Groh provided a few answers. According to Groh, Phillip is not in school at the moment, but is looking for somewhere to enroll in the fall semester. The cornerback is firmly committed to Virginia, but will need to enroll in prep school to qualify academically and attend the University.

“I’m not unduly concerned about the situation [as it is],” Groh said. “He and I have an understanding right now. He is not enrolled in school [right now] to my knowledge. We are certainly planning on him being enrolled here in 2004.”
