In Cedric Peerman ’s mind he belongs in two places — at the University of Virginia and on the football field. With
a commitment set to play for the Cavaliers, all that is left is finding a spot on the field, and it doesn’t seem to
matter to Peerman if it’s on offense or defense.

“Wherever I get to play is great,” said Peerman. “The coaches did not say anything but I heard a
couple of rumors. Wherever I get to play is fine. I don’t really care. I prefer running back, but it doesn’t matter
as long as I get on the field.”

Statistically, Peerman has the stats to indicate that he can play on either side of the ball. Offensively, he rushed
222 times for 2,016 yards and 43 touchdowns. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound tailback also scored two receiving TD’s and
returned a kick for a score, as well.

For his career, Peerman did his best to re-write the Virginia High School League’s record book. He finished his
career with 107 touchdowns, topping the old mark of 104 TD’s that was set by former Virginia star Thomas Jones at
Powell Valley High School. With 654 career points, Peerman finished just short of another state record. Dennis Mahan
scored 662 points in 1977 at Martinsville.
