Catching Up with Lamont Robinson

Salem (N.J.) linebacker Lamont Robinson , a 4-star prospect and UVa commit who has taken official visits to Georgia (11/26), Ohio State (12/03), and Oklahoma (12/10), was scheduled to take an official visit to the University of Iowa this past weekend. Robinson missed an early morning flight to Iowa on Saturday but tried to make a flight later that day…did he make the trip?

“I didn’t go,” Robinson said. “I missed the Saturday morning flight. I scheduled a later flight but didn’t make that one either. So, I stayed home. I relaxed and took care of some Christmas shopping.”

The 6-2, 225-pound recruit discussed his most recent official visit, which was to the University of Oklahoma.

“I had a great time,” Robinson said. “It’s a program that has over 30 wins over the past 3 seasons. Obviously they have a lot of good going on down there. Coach [Brent] Venables and Coach [Bob] Stoops are great guys. They have good people in the program. You’d think that a program that has won as much as they have would have a lot of guys with big egos, but they all were great. Overall, it was just a great visit.”
